This workshop gives students a toolbox of skills to create web content and prepares them to work in an online newsroom. Students in will serve as reporters, editors and photographers for the school’s online news portal. Through a mix of news and feature stories, students will master the fundamentals of writing for online. They will understand how their stories fit into the “web” of related information on the Internet. They will learn the mechanics of the online world: creating pages for the World Wide Web, uploading them to a server and using a digital camera, audio and video to make their stories interactive. On 158 Instructors and Courses – Journalism completion of this workshop, students will understand how information is best communicated online and have a portfolio of stories viewable by anyone with access to the Internet.
