Sundar Sarukkai, Director of the Manipal Centre for Humanities and Philosophy, Manipal University, India
This event is a recorded presentation.
Dr. Sarukkai will discuss how Indian logic can primarily be viewed through the language of semiotics. Buddhist logic and later logical traditions in India analysed inference in terms of valid ways of inferring the signified from the signifier. He will also describe other unique conceptual categories that are part of Indian logic and discuss the possibility of an alternate rationality based on these ideas.
The lecture will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the KTS Lecture Hall, Academic Building, University of King’s College, on Thursday, 6 November, 2014.
All are welcome to attend.
