“A Pillar of Cloud by Day and Pillar of Fire by Night: Finding the Way of Life in the A World Beguiled by the Culture of Money”

Mark MacDonald is the Archbishop of the Indigenous Anglican Church of Canada, and is a friend of King’s College, having last visited us in 2018. On Saturday morning, he will speak at a Chapel quiet day, which is an opportunity to enter a space of reflection and contemplation. Following Holy Communion to start the day, the morning will consist of a number of short talks, interspersed with silence, and concluding with a discussion and light meal.
Archbishop Mark summarizes the theme of the quiet day this way: “Surrounded by the challenges of a culture of intersecting systemic evils, it is difficult to find a path of hope, compassion, and life. The struggle to walk this path is at the heart of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. It is difficult, but God is present in a pervasive yet hidden way as the guide to the path, the path itself, and the goal of the path.”
