Born in Toronto, Ont., Bonnie relocated with her family to New Brunswick at a very young age. Along with three sisters, she grew up in Minto, a small coal mining village a short distance from Fredericton. She graduated from Minto High School in 1991 as class valedictorian and earned the Governor General’s bronze medal for academic excellence.

Bonnie obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (accounting concentration with honours) from UNB Fredericton in 1995. She went on to obtain her CPA, CA certification in 1998 while articling with Grant Thornton LLP in Saint John, New Brunswick. Her work experience prior to academia includes Forestry and Woodlands Accounting with J.D. Irving, Limited (Saint John); value-for-money auditing with the New Brunswick Office of the Auditor General (Fredericton) and Controller with NB Power (Fredericton).

Bonnie relocated to Nova Scotia in 2008 where she accepted the position of Director of Finance with NSCAD University (Halifax). During her time at NSCAD, she acted as the Vice-President, Finance and Administration, during a maternity leave. In 2013 Bonnie accepted the newly-created position of Director of Finance at the University of King’s College. In early 2016 Bonnie became the Bursar of King’s. In this role, Bonnie oversees all financial functions of the university including accounting, banking, endowment management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and benefits. She also oversees human resources, facilities management, information technology and ancillary services.

Bonnie has a passion for animals and enjoys spending time with her dogs, hiking, gardening and reading in her spare time.
