David was born in Halifax and is a graduate of Dalhousie University with degrees in Commerce and Law. He also studied at Harvard Business School completing its PMD executive program.
Mr Archibald’s career was as a senior executive of Northern Telecom. He had executive responsibility for law, real estate, public relations, security , purchasing and logistics.
Upon retirement from Nortel , he joined with a group of executives to found XPV Capital, a firm established to provide venture financing to emerging clean technology companies. He is currently a limited partner of XPV.
He has served as a board member of numerous companies both public and private. He has served on the Board of Governors of King’s since 2004 and has served on many of the committees of the Board , currently as a member of the Executive and Investment Committees.
Mr Archibald is a member of the Governing Council of Sunnybrook Hospital and is a Trustee of Forests Ontario, the voice for Ontario’s forests.
David and his wife Robin live in Toronto, as do their daughters Lindsay and Gillian, each of whom is a graduate of King’s.
