Kevin Gibson has been secretary to the King’s Board of Governors since 2006. Called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2001, he is a partner in the Halifax office of the law firm McInnes Cooper. He practises commercial and construction litigation and provides advice to owners, architects, engineers, and contractors in the negotiation, drafting, and interpretation of procurement and construction agreements. In addition to his board responsibilities, he is a member of the university’s executive and governance committees and serves on the Board of Appeal and Discipline.
Active in the academic and legal communities, Mr Gibson teaches construction law in the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where he previously taught civil trial practice for several years, and speaks regularly at professional conferences.
Before taking degrees in law at Oxford and Queen’s universities, Mr Gibson studied classics at the University of King’s College and was a student representative on the board.
