Residence Donships 2017-18

The University of King’s College invites applications for Residence Donships for the 2017-18 academic year.

Dons exercise general disciplinary duties within the precincts of the College, especially within their designated Bay or Floor. They are expected to make a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the College and to assist students through programming initiatives, individual support and referrals, and through initial crisis response. Together the nine dons and three junior dons form the core of the residence staff team, working together with the Dean and Assistant Dean of Students on a daily basis to coordinate their efforts as a team and as individuals. Dons are also required to attend bi-weekly staff meetings. Read the full position description [PDF].

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree of at least one year’s standing and interest in being members of a small, dynamic university community. Former students of the College are expected to have at least one year between graduation and taking up the position.

Remuneration is a furnished two room suite (with private bath), a meal plan, and full access to all College amenities (a taxable benefit).

Dons are expected to be fully moved in to their accommodations no later than August 21, 2017. Dons are encouraged to arrive earlier, and can move in any time after August 1, 2017.

  • April 12 to 26, 2018: April Exam Period.
  • April 28, 2018: Dons may leave residence.
  • May 31, 2018: Don appointment officially ends.
