This course critically explores the nature and significance of science through its history, from the ancient Babylonians omens to genetic engineering. The course, which can be taken as either a science or a humanities course, is open to students of all levels and disciplines. It is taught jointly by Dr. Andrew Inkpen, Dr. Melanie Frappier, and Dr. Gordon McOuat who, after the weekly lectures, lead students in small-group discussions of some of the most significant historical scientific texts ever written.
