Al Tuck will perform some Dylan songs and Angus Johnston will provide some commentary. In Dylan’s work some songs address the context of our lives, America, and the political directly. And some are addressed to God. This performance/talk will focus on a few of his more personal songs, songs addressed to persons, usually a woman. It will be a limited exploration of how the larger context of our situation – America, say – is also addressed in these “love” songs.

Lecture by Dr. Angus Johnston. Special performance by Al Tuck.
