Matriculation, which dates back to the early 19th century, is a ceremony where students are formally welcomed as members of the University of King’s College. Dressed in the college’s traditional academic gowns, students inscribe their names in the Matricula, symbolically joining the community of thousands of King’s students who came before them. Matriculation will take place on Tuesday, September 11 in the King’s Library. Read more: ‘Matriculation: what you need to know.’
A reception with light refreshments will be taking place concurrently in the President’s Lodge.
Members of the King’s community are invited to drop into the Library or the Lodge to support our students as we mark their admission into the university. The event will also be livestreamed on instagram.
We also encourage every student to attend the formal meal that evening.
