Mens’ Soccer

September 8th, 2018 – 4 pm, Wickwire Field. In a ferocious, intense contest, the UKC Blue Devils triumphed over the STU Tommies 1-0. In the early stages of the game, fan-favorite Shinji Yamamoto brought the crowd to its feet with a luscious chip that struck the crossbar. STU had multiple scoring chances throughout the game, but ultimately ended up failing to score as veteran UKC keeper Sam White adds yet another shutout to his already illustrious career. In the second half, Jack Creaser broke the deadlock with a deadly penalty shot, after an earlier penalty attempt from Kings’ Kristian Sacco was robbed by STU keeper Riley McCleod. Tempers flared throughout the game, with the referee handing out multiple yellow cards to both sides. All in all, it was a hard fought victory for King’s. -SG
