The University of King’s College is pleased to announce that the Evanov Radio Group will be funding a new annual award available for King’s Master of Journalism students.
The Group will provide King’s with $140,000 over seven years to be paid in annual $20,000 installments beginning in the fall of 2011 and ending in fall 2017.
For each of these seven years, King’s will provide two Evanov Radio Group Awards worth $2,500. The remaining $15,000 will be invested to create the Evanov Radio Group Endowment. Funding for the award will ultimately come from this endowment when the Group’s payments to King’s conclude in 2018.
The Evanov Radio Group Award is available to students enrolled in the King’s Master of Journalism program with a demonstrated focus in new media. The award will be given to a student based on need, merit or both, and will given out every April.
The Master of Journalism program is a 10-month program offered jointly by the University of King’s College and Dalhousie University that offers two streams: investigative reporting and new ventures in journalism. Applications for the Master of Journalism close on March 15.
