We at King’s bid farewell to two active and distinguished members of our community.
Joy Smith (BA ’42) passed away on Saturday, November 26 at home. Her husband, Harry D. Smith (DCL ’91) was King’s President from 1963 to 1969. Joy was an active participant in the King’s Alumni Association. She was one of four recipients of the inaugural Order of the Ancient Commoner award in May of 2010.
Graham Dennis (DCL ’03) passed away on Thursday December 1st at home. He was publisher of the Chronicle-Herald newspaper for 57 years. Dennis held the longest record of service of any Canadian newspaper publisher. The Herald remains one of the few independent newspapers remaining in the country.
