All aboard the King’s Express! On Monday, 16 April, a group of King’s students will board the train at Halifax’s Via Rail station, bound for Montreal.
The trip is the initiative of Sustainability King’s, a student-led group that negotiated the special $99 fare with Via Rail. The aim is to reduce carbon emissions by encouraging students to take the train rather than a plane at the end of term.
The students will be sent off in fine style, with a bagpiper, a rousing speech, faculty dressed in academic gowns, and stripey King’s scarves for all travellers.
Festivities start at 11.00 AM, with boarding at 11.30. The train departs at 12.15.
