Tim has spent his career working with students and student leaders in residence life since 2007 at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, MacEwan University in Edmonton, Sheridan College in Oakville, and the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Tim’s areas of expertise are in residence staff leadership competency and capacity building, training and development, driving program and residential curriculum growth, and campus collaboration with both faculty and staff. As well, Tim launched the first residence service-learning program on campus, leading nearly 100 students over reading week to four different Habitat for Humanity builds throughout the United States. Tim also drove the development of a leadership development tool out of his master’s research on enhancing student leadership in residence, which has been adopted and adapted by several institutions in both the US and Canada. Tim presents at provincial, national and international conferences, including the Ontario Association of College and University Housing Officials conference, the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services annual conference, and the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International annual convention and exposition.
