Precautionary note: COVID-19 exposure notification

Precautionary note: COVID-19 exposure notification

Dear Students, faculty and staff,

Earlier today, King’s received notice that a possible COVID exposure may have occurred in the gym:

  • December 5th between 8:30am and 1:15pm
  • December 7th between 6:00pm and 7:00pm

Activities in the Gymnasium at these times were in compliance with the Public Health Directives, including the requirement for all participants have full vaccination.

Public Health is contacting all close contacts with direct instructions. If you have not yet been contacted no further action is required.

However, as always, and particularly considering notice today about 8 confirmed cases in Dalhousie   residences, and rising cases in the province, we encourage everyone to take advantage of asymptomatic rapid testing.

  • On the weekend, take-away rapid tests are available at the Dalhousie Student Union Building, Killam Library and Kellogg Library.
  • King’s Covid Screening Clinic in the KTS Lecture Hall (2nd floor, NAB) is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. You can also pick up take home tests.

As we approach the holiday season, it is vital that everyone stay vigilant with our Covid health and safety precautions: mask, distance, wash your hands regularly and keep your social circle small. All informal gatherings must be limited to 25 persons indoors and 50 persons outdoors.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Ian Wagschal
Director of Facilities
