Wednesday, February 12, 6:27 a.m. – Delayed Opening

Due to weather conditions, King’s as well as Dalhousie will delay opening today (Wednesday, Feb. 12). Campuses will open for classes and operations at 10 a.m.

Please note that today’s Foundation Year Program lecture will begin at 10:30 a.m.

As King’s classes are listed as part of Dalhousie offerings, King’s follows the decisions made by Dalhousie in circumstances of weather-induced closures. As such, if Dalhousie (Halifax Campus) is closed for weather-related reasons, King’s will also be closed. Conversely, when Dalhousie is open, King’s is open.

Here is where you will find out if Dal/King’s is closed:

  • on the King’s website
  • on the radio
  • on the main page of the Dalhousie website
  • through Dalhousie’s DalSafe app
  • through an email to all students
  • through an email to faculty and staff from the President’s Office
  • via King’s social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter) We encourage you to share/retweet this information.

For immediate notifications, we encourage all students, faculty and staff to download Dalhousie’s DalSafe app, which informs the community of all emergency notifications, including storm days.

On a Foundation Year Program (FYP) -specific note, should Dalhousie (Halifax campus) close for only the morning and thus the FYP lecture cancelled, all FYP tutorials that day will also be cancelled.  If there is a storm closure on an essay day, essays will be due the morning of the next FYP lecture.

When making the decision about travelling to campus on days the campus is open, safety should always be the first priority.
