BBA (MSVU)
Tara Wigglesworth-Hines has over 15 years of post-secondary experience within admissions, recruitment, and advising students. Born and raised in Halifax, Tara graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) in 1995, with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management Concentration/Co-op) degree. She started working in MSVU’s Registrar’s Office soon after graduation as a contract recruiter, travelling the Atlantic provinces speaking to high school students. From there she moved into more senior roles, first as an Admissions/Liaison Officer and then Assistant Registrar, Recruitment and Admissions.
In 2004, Tara left MSVU to support her husband’s career which took their young family to Thunder Bay in northwestern Ontario for five years. Within a year, she accepted a casual position with Confederation College Library. Tara held this position for four years. It allowed her to continue to pursue her love working with post-secondary students and have time home with her young family.
In 2009, Tara and her family moved back to Nova Scotia and spent three years in Canso, Guysborough County. It is there they welcomed their third child and enjoyed the pleasures of small-town life. When moving back to Halifax in 2012, Tara knew she wanted to continue to work in the post-secondary field, focusing on admissions and advising. This led her to King’s. In 2013, Tara joined the King’s Registrar’s Office team, and maintains that the highlight of her job is meeting and making connections with students and their families.
When Tara isn’t being mom to three fantastic kids, she can often be found gardening, reading a book, crocheting, or cheering on one of her talented kids as they pursue their passions in art, baseball, ringette, and AUS football.
