King’s alumni returned to campus in record numbers, gathering to enjoy a delicious brunch, reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the achievements of fellow alumni
The weekend kicked off in high spirits on Friday night with two exciting events. The class of ’75 reunited at The Old Triangle, traveling from across Canada to mark their 50-year milestone together. Meanwhile, on campus, the MFA conference welcomed attendees with an opening night gathering in The Social, Dalhousie’s gathering space.
Saturday morning began with guided campus tours led by Yolana Wassersug, BA(Hons)’08, Assistant Registrar and proud King’s alum, who shared her insider knowledge and pointed out what’s new on campus.
The heart of the day was the Alumni Day Brunch and Awards Ceremony in Prince Hall, where King’s proudly celebrated Bernard Hibbitts, BA(Hons)’80, recipient of the Judge J. Elliott Hudson Distinguished Alumni Award, Mohamed Hashem, BJ(Hons)’15, the Meraki Kudos Young Alumni Achievement Award and Terra Duncan, BJ(Hons)’06, MFA’15, who was inducted into Order of the Ancient Commoner.
Next, the brunch continued with celebrating the anniversaries of the classes of 1975 (50-year), 2000 (25-year) and 2015 (10-year). King’s also had the special honour of hosting the reunion for the class of 1990, which also received pins marking the occasion.
After brunch, guests were treated to two sold-out tours of the King’s Library Treasure Room, hosted by University Librarian Patricia Chalmers. Her warmth and expertise brought King’s literary gems to life, and we’re deeply grateful for her generosity in sharing them.
The festivities wrapped up in the Wardroom, where the class of ’90 hosted an informal gathering. Alumni and friends from all eras dropped in throughout the evening to enjoy good food, drinks, music, and vibrant conversation—a perfect close to a weekend filled with laughter, reflection, and renewed connections.
