This course gives students both a theoretical and practical introduction to journalism as it’s practiced today. In the thinking component, students examine the principles and evolution of journalism and its role in society. The writing part of the course helps students hone the skills of simple, tight, bright journalistic writing. Students will complete frequent writing assignments, read news with a critical eye and work in small groups with professional journalist instructors.
