If you are interested in one of a limited number of available bursaries, please complete the bursary application form before January 24, 2025. Please note that the quantity of bursaries allocated is dependent upon the total number of bursary applications received, and the depth of need requested.


 

Registration for King's Writing Workshops

  • Four-Week Course Fee (per course)

    $349 + $52.35 (HST) = $401.35*

    Eight-week Course Fee (per course)

    $599 + $89.85 (HST) = $688.85*

    *Members of the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia and King’s students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni receive a discount of $50 on 8-week courses and $25 on 4-week courses.

    (Please note that a maximum of one discount can be applied to fees.)
    If you qualify for the discount, you may apply it to your own workshop fee by subtracting $50 from the total cost. OR, you may opt to pay the full course fee, and contribute the discount portion of $50 to a bursary that would allow a writer facing financial challenges to attend a workshop.

Registration fees

All workshop fees are due upon registration.

To secure a place in the workshop, the Department Administrator must receive your payment in full by January 31, 2025.

Please let the administrator know if you require a different payment schedule, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Cancelling your registration

To cancel your workshop registration, please contact the Department Administrator.

A full refund will be provided if you withdraw before the first workshop class.

After the first session, refunds will be pro-rated according to when you withdraw, up to 50% of the total cost of the course.

Cancellation by the Writing and Publishing Department

Insufficient enrollment:

If a workshop is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, registrants will be notified immediately and fees will be fully reimbursed. Final decision if a workshop is running will be made by January 27, 2025.

Postponement:

If a workshop is postponed, registrants will be notified immediately, and fees will be fully reimbursed. The workshop will be rescheduled for the first available date, and the cancellation periods for full and partial fee refunds will apply to the new start date.
