Mutcho Radio Network Alliance invites everyone to World Radio Day 2026 taking place at King’s on Friday, February 13.
“World Radio Day is an opportunity to reflect on radio’s power and its ability to inform, connect, and inspire communities across geographies and generations. Our 2026 event places special emphasis on how radio continues to shape culture, sustain local voices, and nurture the next generation of storytellers.”

Panel Session I: Academia and Youth Perspectives – moderated by Eunice Abaga, BJ’24, exploring how radio education is evolving and why audio storytelling remains essential in a digital age and including King’s professor Pauline Dakin.
Panel Session II: Community Storytellers & Artists Perspectives, moderated by Ryan Ganon, centering community radio as a space for belonging, cultural expression and youth empowerment.
Honouring Black Radio Excellence, recognizing influential contributors and celebrated storytellers who have shaped the landscape of radio, journalism, and community storytelling in Nova Scotia and beyond. One of the honorees is King’s professor Brian Daly.
