The King’s community returned to campus on a Saturday in June to enjoy a delicious brunch, reconnect with old friends, make new ones and honour the achievements of fellow alumni.

The day kicked off with the annual brunch and awards ceremony in Prince Hall. King’s proudly honoured Robert Cribb, BA(Hons)’89, with the Judge J. Elliott Hudson Distinguished Alumni Award. It was presented to him by Kim Kierans, BA(Hons)’83, DCL’23.

Cassie Hayward, BA(Hons)’19, received the Meraki Kudos Young Alumni Achievement Award from Nicholas Graham, BA’90.

The University also welcomed two new members to the Order of the Ancient Commoners: President Bill Lahey (left) and Professor Stephen Kimber (right).

Alumni Association President Jenn Thornhill Verma, BJ(Hons)’02, MFA’19, travelled from Ottawa to deliver a heartfelt address on the importance of community, alumni engagement and staying connected to King’s. She also paid tribute to President Lahey, as the celebration marked one of the final alumni events of his tenure.

The brunch continued with a celebration of the milestone reunions for the classes of 1976 (50-year), 2001 (25-year), and 2016 (10-year). Alumni traveled from across the globe to reconnect with classmates and mark these special anniversaries. Jenn Thornhill Verma presented commemorative pins to members of each reunion class in attendance.
After brunch, guests enjoyed a sold-out tour of the King’s Library Treasure Room, led by University Librarian Tracy Lenfesty. Her warmth and expertise brought King’s literary treasures to life, and we’re deeply grateful for her generosity in sharing them. Alumni also joined a guided campus tour with Recruitment and Admissions Manager Yolana Wasserug, BA(Hons)’08, who shared her insider knowledge while highlighting what’s new at King’s.
The festivities wrapped up in the Wardroom, where alumni gathered to enjoy drinks, music, and lively conversation—a fitting end to a day filled with laughter, reflection and renewed connections.
