The University of King’s College Governor General’s Silver Medal recognizes academic and journalistic excellence. It is awarded to an undergraduate journalism student who has shown significant professional development during his, her or their time in the journalism program of the School of Journalism, Publishing and Writing and stands the highest among their peers.

Established by the Honourable Arthur J. LeBlanc in 2023, the Lieutenant Governor’s Gold Academic Medal is being inaugurally awarded at King’s in 2026. This medal is awarded annually to one graduating student in the Master of Fine Arts program who has demonstrated excellence in scholarship, community service, or engagement and leadership.
