This December 3, the University of King’s College will join the global celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This year, we invite our community to take part in an interactive event designed to build awareness, understanding and inclusion. All students, staff, faculty and community members are welcome.

The theme, “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress,” highlights the idea that when we remove barriers and create accessible environments, everyone benefits.

What to Expect

You’ll have the chance to see, experience and learn what it’s like to navigate the world with a disability. Through hands-on displays, demonstrations, and activities, we’ll showcase accessibility in action, including:

  • Assistive technology demos
  • Sensory and mobility experience stations
  • Accessibility tools and equipment displays
  • Opportunities to learn practical, everyday inclusive practices

Why It Matters

This event is an invitation to deepen understanding, spark meaningful conversations, and foster a stronger, more inclusive campus community—one where everyone has the support they need to participate fully.

Let’s learn together, experience together, and continue building a campus where accessibility and inclusion are lived values.
