All members of the King’s community are invited to join us for a 2SLGBTQIA+ resource fair and celebration!
Learn more about the resources, supports and connection opportunities available for our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members through the mini resource fair:
- King’s Community Supports Team – hosted by the Sexual Health & Safety Officer and the Indigenous Student Support & Outreach Coordinator
- Student Health & Wellness Representatives
- Venus Envy who will also be selling pride merch, books and other great resources. Learn more about what their store offers for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Halifax!
Attendees can also enjoy:
- Queer music playing in the Quad
- Stay tuned to @ukcresidence on Instagram – we will post a story asking you to share your favorite songs by queer artists so we can add them to the playlist!
- Gayke
- The team at Chartwells will prepare a pride progress flag sheet cake. Folks can enjoy a free slice of cake or a gluten-free cupcake (while supplies last).
- Students who attended the 2023 Queering the Quad, aptly named this cake the “Gayke” (gay cake) and the name has stuck around.
- An inflatable rainbow arch photobooth
- A table with free pride stickers (good quality stickers great for laptops, water bottles etc.).
- Lawn games like cornhole, badminton, frisbee and spikeball.
Inclement Weather Plan
- The rain date for Queering the Quad is Tuesday, October 28, 2025 (same times and location).
- Keep an eye on either the @ukcresidence or the @ukchalifax Instagram stories. That is where we will let folks know if we need to postpone the event to the rain date.
