All members of the King’s community are invited to join us for the 5th annual Queering the Quad, a 2SLGBTQIA+ resource fair and celebration!
Learn more about the resources, supports and connection opportunities available for our 2SLGBTQIA+ community members through a mini resource fair.
Attendees can also enjoy:
- music playlist of queer artists and queer anthems
- the Gayke
- The team at Chartwells prepares a pride progress flag sheet cake. Folks can enjoy a free slice of cake or a gluten-free cupgayke (while supplies last).
- Students who attended the 2023 Queering the Quad, aptly named this cake the “Gayke” (gay cake) and it’s stuck ever since!
- an inflatable rainbow arch photobooth
- a table with free pride stickers (good quality stickers great for laptops, water bottles, sticking to magnetic sheets to make a magnet, etc.) and mini pride flags!

Kings P.R.I.D.E.
King’s P.R.I.D.E ( People Recognizing Individual Diversity and Equity) is a student-run society established in 2006. We host and promote events that support and celebrate 2SLGBTQ+ students and wider community.
Femme/Butch Halifax
A social group for people who identify with the butch, stud, femme dynamic.
Venus Envy
Venus Envy is an education-based sex shop and bookstore. We sell sex toys and books, as well as other pride and gender affirming gear, but we also do a lot of formal education programs. We specialize in supporting people who are usually left out of sex education conversations, namely racialized, queer and trans, and disabled community members.
