The Kingsmen played host to the Hurricanes of Holland College in what, surely, would have been the biggest upset of the season, had a few breaks gone the way of the home side in the games closing stages. In what was a David vs. Goliath match up, the last placed Blue Devils took the game to their opponent right from the tip off, holding the lead for nearly the entire game. Led by senior guard, and former Hurricane, Jayden Nordin (30 pts), the Blue Devils utilized their smaller, speedier lineup to expose the visiting Hurricanes. The win was not meant to be, however, with Nordin and Janday both fouling out for UKC in the 4th quarter, paving the way for the veteran Holland College side to seal the deal late on, via the combined efforts of Jordan Hollness (27 pts.) and Adrien Thompson (26 pts.). Still 2 games off a playoff spot, the Blue Devils will need to score at least one win on the road in the next 2 weeks; with opponents Mt. A, STU, and HC all on the docket. King’s has but one home match remaining, February 23. against Crandall, which could prove to be deciding game for their playoff hopes.
