Update on academic dates for the fall term

Update on academic dates for the fall term

All Classes Resumed: All King’s and Dalhousie classes have resumed as of September 23. Learn more.

To all in our King’s community,

With the end of the labour disruption at Dalhousie University, all classes at both King’s and Dalhousie have resumed as of this morning.

The Dalhousie University Senate met yesterday (September 22) and voted to approve the remaining academic dates for the fall term.

King’s will follow those same academic dates:

  • November 10-14: Fall study break (dates unchanged)
  • Wednesday, December 3: Last day of classes for courses that began as scheduled on September 2
  • Wednesday, December 10: Last day of classes for courses that were suspended during the labour disruption and resumed the week of September 15 and today, September 23. This final day will follow a Monday class schedule. Note: King’s faculty teaching classes that resumed the week of Monday, September 15 (the week prior to Dalhousie’s return to teaching on September 23) may use the week of December 4-10 at their discretion.
  • December 11-21: Exams

See updates to add/drop dates and the Payments Guide on the Important Dates page.

If you have questions about the resumption of classes, please reach out to the appropriate contact. For inquiries related to course timings, formats, or content, please contact your course instructor directly. For questions about course choices, important academic dates, planning your schedule, or accessing academic support, please visit or email the Registrar’s Office at registrar@ukings.ca.

Thanks again to our wonderful community of students, staff and faculty for their patience and understanding during this labour disruption. We are so glad to see everyone back in the classroom with the full participation of our colleagues at Dalhousie.

Sincerely,

Tim Currie
Vice–President
