Nick Harris, BA(Hons)’22, is the Vice-President of the University of King’s College Alumni Association and a former President of the King’s Students’ Union. During his term, he served as the student representative on the University’s Board of Governors, where he developed a strong foundation in board governance. He currently serves as an Alumni Association representative on the Board of Governors.

Nick is currently a public servant with the Government of Canada, specializing in strategic planning and national security policy. His work also spans equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA), with a focus on advancing institutional change and inclusive policy development.

A Rhodes Scholar and recipient of the Loran Award, Nick holds an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford. His graduate research focused on hostage negotiation and power politics, exploring how states use detained individuals as instruments of diplomatic leverage. While at Oxford, he was elected as Vice-President Postgraduate Access and Education and served on the University Council, the institution’s highest governing body outside of Convocation.

Nick is the founder of the Trailblazers Mentorship Program, which supports first-generation and low-income students in Windsor, Ontario, pursuing post-secondary education and scholarship opportunities.

As a proud alumnus, Nick encourages recent graduates and current students to get involved in the life of the university—whether through mentorship, governance or alumni initiatives—as a way to give back, build community and shape the future of King’s.
