Sheryl Grant (she/her) has more than 40 years of experience in journalism that spans traditional reporting, newsroom leadership and digital innovation. After more than 20 years as a reporter, editor and leader in the Halifax Chronicle Herald newsroom, she transitioned to the Herald’s business development team where, as Director, Digital, she led development of the company’s first apps, the introduction of analytics and audience development and paywall strategy. She returned to her newsroom roots as Managing Editor for the Herald in 2020 and ended her career there in that position in early 2022. Sheryl currently works as a part-time instructor and tutor in the Journalism, Writing and Publishing Program at the University of King’s College. She is also co-producing a documentary film with Shortworks Productions on Canada’s first integrated preschool.
