BSW, MSW (Calgary) underway

I am a Registered Social Worker available to meet with any King’s student experiencing challenges with mental health, resource navigation or life’s many ups and downs. I am available to meet with students individually (or in small groups when requested) to discuss topics like:

  • Wellness planning and coping strategies for anxiety, depression, disordered eating, grief, and other mental health concerns
  • Queer and trans-affirming support, including gender-affirming medical care and legal transition
  • Housing, food or financial insecurity
  • Navigating health services at Dalhousie Health and Wellness, or hospital- or community-based services, including gender-affirming care
  • Applying for accommodations through the Dalhousie Accessibility Centre
  • Finding a therapist

Before working at King’s, I worked with mental health organizations such as Laing House and Eating Disorders Nova Scotia. I have also conducted research with 2SLGBTQIA+ people and blood donation (Wright & Gahagan, 2024), post-secondary faculty and staff in recovery (Burns et al., 2025), and post-secondary student mental health. Currently, I am completing my Master of Clinical Social Work at the University of Calgary, where my research explores suicidal trans adults’ recommendations for social work practice.

I love being part of the King’s community and you will often see me on campus with my border collie mix, Ollie. Feel free to say hello to us!
