Women's Volleyball sign middle, Read of Surrey

Holiday closure: The King's campus is closed from end of day December 20 to January 2.

Women’s Volleyball have completed the signing of Lauren Read of Surrey, BC ahead of the 2022-23 ACAA Season. A 5’11 middle, Read presently attends Holy Cross Regional High School, where she’s helped the Crusaders Volleyball program to a first place finish at the 2021 SFVC Tournament, and a third place finish among BC Catholic Schools.

Playing her club volleyball with Velocity Volleyball Club, Read is a member of the club’s U18 squad, currently competing in the British Columbia club circuit, pursuing a trip to the club national championships in Edmonton this May.

“I chose kings because it gave me an opportunity to continue to play volleyball and help me grow as an individual in a new place”, say’s Read. While playing for the Blue Devils, Read intends on studying within the Bachelor of Science Program. Read is the second committed recruit for Head Coach, Beate Shannon’s side this cycle, joining Francis Cooke of Ontario.
