Coakley signing for WVB at setter

Boil Water Advisory: Halifax Peninsula, including the University of King's College, is currently under a boil water advisory.

King’s Women’s Volleyball has completed the signing of Olivia Coakley, bolstering the roster ahead of the 2024-25 season. A 6-foot (183 cm) setter, Coakley is a Halifax native, representing Halifax West High School in the Halifax Metro High School Athletic Association. The Halifax West Warriors went undefeated in the 2023-24 season, finishing first at the provincial tournament, with Coakley serving a key member of the squad. Playing for the Bedford Blizzard U-18 team, Olivia finished 3rd at the provincial club championships, winning a tournament all-star award in the process.

“I’m so excited to pursue my academic and athletic career at King’s,” says Coakley. “I was drawn to the campus environment and felt so welcomed as soon as I stepped foot in the gym. I knew right away that this decision was in my best interest because of the support from the coaching staff and everyone around me.”

Olivia will pursue studies in the Bachelor of Arts program, while helping the Blue Devils to repeat as ACAA Champions following the program’s first league banner in the 2023-24 season.
