MSc, Clinical Psychology, (South Wales)
I’m a newcomer to Canada from Kenya, and over the past several years I’ve had the opportunity to live, work and study across Kenya, Canada and the UK. Moving between different social and cultural contexts has sharpened my understanding of how power shapes relationships and experiences both locally and across borders.
My background is in providing sexual violence advocacy and support through women’s centres and sexual assault centres, and I’m passionate about building relationships and creating spaces where people feel safe, heard and supported.
What drew me to this work was the opportunity to be a supportive point of connection for folks who may feel alone, unsure where to turn or uncertain about whether they even need to reach out. I’m looking forward to bringing that approach to my work with students at King’s and supporting them in whatever capacity feels safest and most supportive for them within my role.
Outside of work, I’m the guardian of a sweet but chaotic Maltese dog, I enjoy drawing, and I’m the collector of many books that remain unread on my bookshelf. I use she/her pronouns.
