Student Snow Removal Labourer

Roles and Responsibilities under the Trades Manager

  • Student will be on-call to provide snow removal on short notice during days, nights, and weekends.
  • Shovel and remove snow as required during snow events on campus.
  • Salt sidewalks and remove ice on pedestrian pathways.
  • Provide general assistance to Facilities Management staff during snow events.

Requirements

  • Extensive lifting will be required.
  • Able to shovel snow and lift related loads of up to 10kgs.
  • Working outdoors will be required.
  • Able to work independently and follow appropriate safety procedures.
  • Work will include nights and weekends.

Additional notes:

This job is physically demanding. Extensive lifting, kneeling, bending, standing and squatting required.
All work will involve careful compliance with current COVID-19 safety procedures. Due to the uncertain nature of the pandemic, the hours of employment in this position may be varied and could be disrupted at any time.

Wage: $30 base pay for each call-in by Facilities Management plus $14.05 per hour worked
