Under the supervision of an experienced investigative journalist, students work as a team to produce a single piece of high impact, public service journalism, published both on a student-designed site and in conjunction with a commercial media partner. In previous years, students have investigated gambling addictions, pollution, police responses, and immigration. Workshop teams have been nominated for numerous journalism prizes, including an international data journalism award. The 2010 workshop team won a Canadian Association of Journalists investigative reporting award.
