On December 6th King’s will mark the 35th anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre in Montréal, Québec.

On this day in 1989, 14 women were killed as they studied, attended lectures and walked through the halls of their university by a mass shooter with an anti-feminist agenda.

At King’s, the flags will fly at half mast and there will be a memorial space telling the stories of these 14 women in the A&A front hall throughout the day.

The Dalhousie Women in Engineering Society will be hosting a Remembrance and Resilience Ceremony at 5 p.m. in the Irving Oil Auditorium on Sexton Campus. All are encouraged to attend.

There will be a group travelling by bus from King’s meeting on the steps of the A&A at 4:15 p.m. for those wanting to travel together. Bus tickets will be available.
