Bill Lahey delivers the FYP final lecture for 2025-26, titled “From Miramichi to the Quad and Beyond: A Story of Memory, Love and Belonging.”
Bill writes, “My FYP Final Lecture is the story of where I come from and who I have become, including through the experience of the past 10 years of living, working and being inspired at King’s. I hope it is received as a story that is in someways parallel to the journey the FYP class of 2025/26 has completed. Guided by the wisdom that “a river does not flow and forget its source” and the metaphor of “a river runs through it”, as well as my gratitude to those who loved me into being, I will offer reflections based on a personal, educational and professional journey that has culminated at King’s. My hope is that these reflections will be of interest to students who have had the wisdom to make FYP and King’s into ports of call on their own journey of becoming.”
The final lecture will be preceded by remarks from Dr. Neil Robertson, FYP Director 2025/26, and the awarding of this year’s FYP Essay Prizes. Alumni and community members welcome.
