Will the J-school staff dribble and drive? Will the students dunk and double clutch? Who will make the power moves? Who will spin and drive? Who has the hook shot down? The turnaround jump shot?

Will there be…an alley-oop?

Come find out January 13 at 8 p.m. when the J-school staff take on the J-school students in a “friendly” basketball match. Then you’ll see what competitive journalism is truly like.

The King’s Journalism Student Society (KJSS) is hosting this Basketball Extravaganza at the King’s gymnasium.

This is the first fundraising event for the KJSS as a newly formed society. All proceeds raised at the game will go toward a student journalism fund for things like audio transcriber subscriptions, editing software and other necessities. Sometimes these functions are not always freely accessible to student journalists. Having a fund will help cover some of the costs.

The game is open to the general public.

Admission: $7.00 per person (cash preferred) or $5.00 with a food bank donation. The food bank donation will go to the King’s Food Security Initiative, a student led society.

This is going to be a fun and friendly match with half-time games for the audience, a 50/50 draw and a canteen.
