Indigenous students, staff and faculty are welcomed to join a Ribbon Skirt/Shirt workshop November 22–23 hosted by the King’s Mawio’mio’kuom and Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey to celebrate National Ribbon Skirt Day.

Taught by Mi’kmaw artist and fashion designer Cedar Pictou, you can choose from the provided materials, or bring your own fabric and ribbons and follow along as they walk through the traditional teaching. If you prefer to make a ribbon shirt, bring a shirt to sew onto instead.

The event happens over two days – each day from 3–6 p.m., so you can also get to know your campus Indigenous community!
