Holiday closure: The King's campus is closed from end of day December 20 to January 2.
Badminton players Maddie Alvarez and Sam White will represent King’s and the ACAA at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Badminton Championships to be held March 3-5 at Vancouver Island University. Both players won singles titles on home court as King’s hosted the ACAA championships this past weekend.
Alvarez, who competed in last year’s CCAA tournament as part of a doubles team with Lacey Banman, will return to nationals for the 4th consecutive year. First-year White, who was awarded not only Male Rookie of the Year but also Male Player of the Year at Saturday’s ACAA banquet, will compete at nationals for the first time.
Sophie Chamberland also took home Female Rookie of the Year as the Blue Devils finished 2nd overall in the ACAA this year.
