Men’s Soccer

UKC 1 – HC 0

In the battle for 1st place in the league, the UKC Blue Devils triumphed over the Holland Hurricanes 1-0. The goal came courtesy of Will Fitzgerald, who headed home a beautiful free kick cross from Shinji Yamamoto. The game was hard fought and chippy, with multiple yellow cards being issued throughout the game. Kings had a brief scare in the 90th minute when their veteran keeper Sam White went down with a head wound. Thankfully, and thanks to some cunning maneouvering by the UKC trainers, White was able to stay in the game to complete yet another stunning clean sheet. The UKC Blue devils take first place with the win.

MSVU 2 – UKC 1

The Mount Mystics earned a big win over the talented UKC Blue Devils. A very tight may=tch up with two teams that have speed , finesse and determination. Jordan Boyd opened the score for the Mystics early in the game but Andrew Burroughs from UKC evened the score. half time 1-1. The second half was very tight. In an offensive push by the Mystics a goal was scored for the Mystics. Final score 2-1.

Women’s Soccer

HC 4 – UKC 0

In a hard fought match under the blazing sun at Wickwire Field, the UKC Blue Devils fell 4-0 to the Holland Hurricanes. Holland’s goals came courtesy of four different players: Fergusson, McEwan, Wells, and MacDougall. Holland’s Sabrina Mollar contributed 2 assists.

Women’s Rugby

 STU 71 – UKC 5

Fredericton, NB- The St. Thomas University Tommies took care of business against the University of King’s College Blue Devils and walked away with a 71-5 victory. The scoring got started early as Emily Donelle scored four minutes into the game. It was the first of 3 tries on the day for her. Third year lock Olivia Ricketts (Saint John, NB) busted off a 65 yard run for a try to put the Tommies up 15-0. The Blue Devils got on the board late in the first half. Other tries for the Tommies were scored by Hope Metallic with two, Megan Pollard and Becca Ring each with one, while Donelle converted 8 kicks, for a total of 31 points for the Tommies. Players of the game were Metallic for the Tommies and Ryleigh Dodd for the Blue Devils. Next action for the Blue Devils will be October 14th vs Mount Allison, while the Tommies will be in action the same day against UNB.
