King's grads scoop up three ECMAs

At the 2017 East Coast Music Awards in Saint John, King’s alumni were well-represented in both Creative and Industry categories. Halifax is Burning, the CKDU Radio mainstay produced and hosted by Trevor Murphy (BJH ’06), won the award for Media Outlet of the Year. Adria Young (BAH ’10) took home Media Person of the Year, a category in which Jean-Etienne Sheehy (MJ ’16) was also nominated.

Klezmer-inspired troubadour Ben Caplan (BA ’10), currently performing in the musical stage stage show Old Stock by Halifax’s 2b theatre, won the award for Songwriter of the Year. Caplan was also nominated for Solo Recording of the Year, Fans’ Choice Video of the Year and Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year.
