Soccer star Marika McKenzie's jersey is retired

Marika McKenzie’s number 10 soccer jersey was retired at a ceremony last week with both president Dr George Cooper and vice-president Kim Kierans on hand to offer congratulations.

Marika came to King’s from Vancouver in 2009 to study journalism. Luckily for King’s, she also played soccer. This outstanding player is a two-time CCAA All Canadian, an ACAA player of the year, and in 2011-2012 she was part of the Blue Devils women’s team that claimed the ACAA championship. She is the only female player from King’s to win two of these awards. Her jersey has been retired in honour of her achievements.

Congratulations, Marika!
