UKC Rugby Recap, Novermber 7-13

The perfect run is complete for the UKC men who finished off their perfect season in Fredericton with a 48-5 win over the UNB Reds. Winning the league and Maritime cups for the first time since the 2012-13 season, these championships are the first King’s has captured in the 2022-23 athletics campaign. Six Blue Devils found the scoresheet, with Noah Lawless, Rowan Sanderson, Joel Benedictson, Ethan McCarthy, Luke Dyment, and Dylan Aleck (2) all reaching the scoresheet, with Charlie Harris tacking on an additional four conversions.

With the win, Head Coach, Geno Carew, will say goodbye to a whooping 14 seniors set to graduate in the coming spring semester. The large and experienced leadership group has been a major factor in the UKC championship campaign this season, though the emerging class of rookies has shown promise throughout the season. Regardless, the Kingsmen will enjoy the company of both the Wood Cup and the Maritime Universities Championship for the next year; well deserved prizes for an undefeated season.
