UKC Volleyball Recap, November 27-December 3

Women’s Volleyball

A perfect run at home for the UKC women, who finish the first half of the season 7-2 and 5-0 at home. A three-set sweep on Friday evening against the USTA Dragons capped the first semester for the Blue Devils, clearing the match 25-12, 25-21, and 25-18. Frances Cooke maintained her promising form, tallying a match-high of 12 kills, while Kaitlyn Legault and Halle Andreasen added an additional six kills each to steer King’s to victory.

With the 7-2 record, Beate Shannon’s side shares the top-of-the-league table with MSVU, who dropped their final game of the season to the Holland College Hurricanes. Riding a 5-match winning streak, the Blue Devils command the strongest form in the ACAA, in the best start to the season in program history. In January, the UKC women travel to Dal AC, Mount Allison, and nationally-ranked MSVU to restart the season, with the lone home game coming on January 21st against St. Thomas University.
