Bachelor of Arts, Arts and Social Sciences, University of King’s College, 2025
Hello, I’m Emily! I’m a former FYP student and I studied Political Science. Currently, I am studying English with hopes of pursuing an MI. I have additional interests in music, history and literature (the list goes on). I am happy to talk about essay ideas and readings with any incoming students, and always love a good book recommendation. Outside of classes, you’ll probably find me with a book or a notebook on my way to get coffee.
I call a few places home, and I’ve enjoyed studying in Halifax. The King’s experience is unique and has a lot to offer. I love the community, and I am excited to be returning as a Don. I hope to contribute to a sense of belonging for new and returning students, and I look forward to engaging with the residence community. I can’t wait to meet you all!
Dons are either upper-year King’s students or young professionals who live within a residence floor or bay and provide support to residents in their community.
They can help with:
Dons are the first line of support for individuals living in residence. Residents are encouraged to reach out to their Don for initial support with any issues or concerns (residence-related or personal).
Dons do have their own commitments outside of King’s. Some are in their undergrad or working through a graduate degree; others have full-time jobs off campus. Dons will communicate their availability and contact information to their community members during the first community gathering meeting on Welcome Day.
There is a Don on Call available for urgent/immediate support each evening, weekend and holiday.
The Don on Call (4 p.m.–8 a.m. Mon–Fri & 24/7 on weekends and holidays) can assist with:
