2026 Encaenia

The 235th Encaenia took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

This year’s class included 215 undergraduate and graduate students from both the fall and spring convocations. There were 158 first-time graduates, 70 of whom earned honours and 47 who achieved first-class honours. There are also 45 newly minted authors who just received their MFA degrees and 28 new King’s trained-journalists in the world. King’s grads took home 13 university medals from both King’s and Dalhousie.

King’s also awarded two honorary Doctor of Civil Law degrees, honoris causa, to former King’s Chair of the Board of Governors, Dr. Douglas Ruck, QC, BA’72, a distinguished lawyer, adjudicator and community leader and Ann Sylliboy, educator, advocate and Director of Post Secondary Education for Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewy. And the beloved former Athletics Director Neil Hooper was named a Fellow of the College.
