During the summer residency, students will be introduced to the historical and contemporary context of literary and genre fiction, and attend lectures, panels and seminars on developing marketable fiction book ideas, as well as the art and craft of fiction writing. Students will meet daily in small groups with their Fiction Mentorship I mentors to further discuss craft and ethical issues as well as hone and finalize the subject of their manuscript. In the fall, you will complete a variety of writing assignments for Fiction Writing Craft I, including book reports and research papers.
